BAM BAM PARKER

Berklee · Usher 8701 · Jaheim · Joe · Day26 · F.A.B. 5

"Knowing when to move to the ride cymbal, when to hold back fills — that's what makes the artist look and sound good. It was never about my ego."

Willie R. Parker Jr., known worldwide as "Bam Bam" Parker, has served as the rhythmic foundation for some of the biggest names in R&B, soul, and gospel for over two decades. Born and raised in Stratford, Connecticut, he began drumming at age three — first in church, then in school bands, then on the world stage.

His breakthrough came in 2001-02 when he landed the drum chair on the legendary Usher 8701 tour via a Faith Evans audition. What followed was a defining seven-year tenure with Jaheim that evolved into a Music Director role — the highest level of trust between an artist and their band.

The
Origin

Church → Berklee → The 8701 Tour

Beginning at age three behind a kit in a Stratford church, Bam Bam's journey led through school concert bands, jazz sit-ins in the South End, and ultimately a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music in 2000. One year later, a Faith Evans audition placed him on the Usher 8701 Tour — the breakthrough that would define the next two decades.

2002 – 2009

JAHEIM

Drummer → Music Director · 7 Years

Seven years with Jaheim wasn't just a gig — it was an apprenticeship in artistry. Parker evolved from touring drummer to Music Director, responsible for every musical decision on stage. Television appearances including Good Morning America, MTV Unplugged, and 106 & Park brought his groove to millions.

THE
CHAIR

Joe · Day26 · Apollo Theatre

The "Chair" is the highest trust in music — the permanent drum seat with an artist who relies on you completely. Bam Bam currently holds that seat for Joe (2025–26 R&B Lovers Tour), previously served as Day26's Music Director, and directed music at the legendary Apollo Theatre in Harlem.
